About The Class
The Ecstasy of Air is revitalizing the roots of yoga with a new wave of healing in the West. This gentle, yet potent practice restores and renews the mind, body, and spirit through the power of chanting, asana, pranayama, and a guided meditation. During the session we move stagnant energy and clear energetic blockages in the body, purify your autonomic nervous system (where you store trauma and stress), stimulate your limbic system (where you process emotions and memories), and harmonize your energy centers. This class will leave you feeling centered, grounded, and relaxed.
Chanting
Everything in life is energy. All energy vibrates at a specific frequency, which can be low or high. Sound is vibration. Chanting ancient mantras elevates your consciousness and attunes your personal vibration to the high vibration and frequency of these mantras. A high vibration and frequency create positive feelings, emotions, thoughts, experiences, and health. Chanting mantras also decreases stress and anxiety, enhances cognitive function, focus, and awareness.
The Four Styles Of Yoga We Explore In The Ecstasy of Air
Asana
Asana is the most popular form of yoga in the West. In our session we perform a sun salutation to bring awareness to the physical body, open up the flow of energy, release tension, and increase circulation.
Pranayama
We have 72,000 energetic pathways in our body called nadis. We can cleanse and harmonize our nadis by performing various pranayama (yogic breathing) exercises. Prana is energy/life force. Breath is the vehicle of prana. Your first source of energy comes from your breath, not your cup of coffee. Pranayama enhances mental clarity and cognition, increases energy, improves immune function, decreases stress and anxiety, and creates an emotionally balanced state of being.
Guided Meditation/Sound Bath
Meditation is a mind-body practice that focuses your attention and awareness. During The Ecstasy of Air we engage in a guided creative visualization meditation that connects you to and harmonizes your energetic centers (Chakras). During the meditation you’ll also experience a sound bath that harmonizes your chakras and relaxes your mind and nervous system.
